Our history

The origins of High Trail Vanoise

TheOdlo High Trail Vanoise traces its origins back to 2011, when it was first held under the nameIce Trail Tarentaise (ITT). At the time, the Club des Sports de Val d’Isère was just a service provider for the Trailers Pays de Savoie association, the event’s main organizer. The first editions of the Ice Trail Tarentaise offered several routes:

➡️ L’Ice Trail Tarentaise (ITT): A 65 km trail with 5000 m of ascent.

➡️ L’Altispeed: A short 32 km trail with 2500 m ascent.

➡️ La Montagnarde: A 12.5 km hike with a 1400 m ascent.

In 2014, the Club des Sports chose to take an active role in the organization of the event, abandoning its role as service provider to take on the management. It was at this point that the event’s name was changed to Odlo High Trail Vanoise, marking an important turning point and the start of a new era.

Current High Trail Vanoise routes

➡️ The High Trail Vanoise (HTV): A trail over 65 km long with more than 4000 m of ascent.

➡️ The Trail des 5 Cols (T5C): A short trail over 30km with more than 2,500m of ascent.

➡️ Les Balcons: A trail of over 20km with 1150m of ascent.

➡️ La petite Vanoise caritative: An 8km run in support of a charitable cause.

➡️ The Trail Jeunes/Enfants: A race dedicated to the very young, launched in 2013.

An unmissable event in the heart of the Alps

Its success is based on technical and demanding courses, ranked among the top 5 high altitude trails, in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, offering spectacular scenery and an exceptional setting for mountain enthusiasts.
